Calculateos

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Calculateos (“the Site”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use our online calculators at calculateos.com. The Site is intentionally simple: it runs calculators in your browser, has no user accounts, and shows no ads. We use a single analytics provider — plus an error-monitoring and a hosting provider (see §5) — and in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland analytics run only with your consent — details below.

1. Who we are (data controller)

Calculateos is operated by its owner, who acts as the data controller within the meaning of Article 4(7) of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable data protection law.

  • Privacy contact: privacy@calculateos.com
  • General contact: legal@calculateos.com

No Data Protection Officer is appointed, and none is required, because large-scale systematic monitoring is not our core activity and we do not process special categories of data (Article 37 GDPR).

2. What we process

Calculator inputs (such as percentages, amounts, dates, or height and weight for BMI). All calculations run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your inputs are never sent to, stored on, or seen by our servers — we do not receive them at all.

Technical connection data. As with every website, when your browser requests our pages, our hosting and content-delivery provider automatically processes basic connection data at the network edge — including your IP address, request headers, and user-agent string — to deliver the page, provide security, and prevent abuse. This is standard server-log data; we do not use it to identify or profile you.

Error reports. If a technical error occurs, we use a third-party error-monitoring service that records diagnostic information such as your IP address, browser type, and a technical stack trace. We use this solely to detect and fix crashes, never to identify you, and we never log your calculator inputs. Error reports are retained for no more than 90 days. This error monitoring does not set cookies.

Usage analytics. We use a third-party web analytics tool to understand how the Site is used — for example, which pages are viewed, general device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and basic interactions. To do this, the analytics provider sets cookies and processes the associated data on our behalf. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics run only after you give consent through our cookie banner; until then we keep analytics in a cookieless state, so that no analytics cookies are set. We do not use analytics for advertising, and we do not combine it with identifying account data (we have none).

3. What we do NOT do

  • No user accounts, sign-up, or login.
  • No advertising and no advertising cookies (this may change in future — see §11 “Changes”).
  • No profiling and no automated decision-making about you.
  • No selling of personal information.
  • No logging of your calculator inputs, ever.

In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, no non-essential (analytics) cookies are set before you consent. You can confirm this in your browser’s developer tools, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time (see §10).

4. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — for analytics cookies and the related analytics processing. You give it through the cookie banner and can withdraw it at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — operating and securing the Site, keeping it available, and fixing errors (connection data and error reports). These interests are limited and do not override your rights.
  • Steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b)) — when you email us, we use your message and address to reply to you.

5. Recipients and sub-processors

We do not share personal data with third parties for their own independent purposes. We rely on the following categories of providers that process limited data on our behalf:

  • A hosting and content-delivery provider — hosting, content delivery, and edge security (processes connection data / IP at the edge).
  • A web analytics provider — usage analytics, only after your consent in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland.
  • An error-monitoring provider — error monitoring (see §2).

6. International transfers

Some of these providers process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where this happens, the transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards — such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses — as required by Articles 44–46 GDPR.

7. Retention

  • Calculator inputs: not retained — they never leave your browser.
  • Analytics data: retained by our analytics provider for the retention period we configure (no longer than 14 months).
  • Edge connection logs: retained by our hosting provider under its own retention policy; we keep no separate copies.
  • Error reports: retained for no more than 90 days.
  • Emails you send us: kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR / UK GDPR), you have the right to: access your data; rectification; erasure; restriction of processing; data portability; objection to processing; and withdrawal of consent at any time (which you can do via the “Cookie settings” link in the Site footer). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.

If you are in California (CCPA/CPRA), you have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, to opt out of “sale”/“sharing”, and to non-discrimination for exercising your rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We use analytics only to measure our own Site. You can decline or withdraw analytics at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the Site footer, or block and delete analytics cookies through your browser’s settings.

To exercise any right, email privacy@calculateos.com. Because we hold almost no identifiable data about you, we may be unable to link a request to specific data (Article 11 GDPR); we will explain this to you where relevant.

9. Children

The Site is a general-audience tool and is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher minimum age set by your country, up to 16 in some EU member states). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will address it.

10. Cookies and consent

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

CookieSet byPurposeDuration
Consent preference (browser local storage)This SiteRemembers your analytics choiceUntil you clear it
AnalyticsOur analytics providerDistinguishes unique visitorsup to 2 years
Analytics (session)Our analytics providerRetains analytics session/stateup to 2 years
  • The consent preference entry is essential — it stores your own choice in your browser’s local storage (it is not a cookie) — and is set without consent.
  • The analytics cookies are non-essential. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland they are set only after you accept analytics in the cookie banner — before consent we keep analytics in a cookieless state, so the analytics provider receives at most cookieless, aggregated signals and sets no cookies. Outside these regions, analytics cookies may be set by default; you can opt out at any time (see below).
  • You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the Site footer, which reopens the consent banner. You can also block or delete analytics cookies through your browser’s settings.
  • We do not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. Control analytics through the footer “Cookie settings” link or your browser’s settings.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site evolves — for example, if we later add advertising, which would introduce advertising cookies and additional disclosures. For material changes we will post a prominent notice on the Site. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version. We publish this policy in several languages for your convenience; if there is any discrepancy between language versions, the English version prevails.
